Reaching Out in Love

VBS Week in 2011 was August 8 - 12  at Christ of the Bay.  The theme was "Big Jungle Adventure".   Besides serving our member children, it was a great outreach as many unchurched kids attended and learned the truth about Jesus!

UWGB Ministry - A group called Campus Lutherans for Christ meets on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. on campus when school is in session.  Come and chat.  Rides are available for worship services at Christ of the Bay.  Contact Dianne Rentmeester 866-2647, Rentmeall@aol.com or Pastor DeCoste 655-3933, cdecoste@yahoo.com to arrange a ride.

There is a Food Pantry at Christ of the Bay.  Donations of dry goods and canned foods marked "Pantry" may by left in the kitchen.

We have an Emergency Fund for some of our members who have lost jobs or need assistance.  If you are moved to give a special gift, please put a check in the offering plate or send it to the church office.  Make check payable to: Christ of the Bay Lutheran, with "Emergency Fund" on the memo line.  Pastor will see to it that the appropriate people receive the funds.  Thank you for any help you can give.

Our Music Ministry offers many ways to share your musical gifts. HeavenSound, the praise team, practices at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights and 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning (8:15 a.m. on summer Sunday's) and leads the congregation in the 10:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday (9:00 a.m. in summer every other Sunday).  The Voice Choir practices on Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. and sings in the worship services during the holiday seasons.  The 9:15 a.m. Sunday School opening is a place where children offer their praises and they will also be singing in the worship service at various times.

Our LWML chapter, the Ladies in Mission, has many projects. In March 2011, we held our annual Craft, Bake and Rummage Sale.  The sale raised almost $1600 for missions and projects.  At Christmastime we collected winter hats and mittens for the children at Baird Elementary School. Items were collected and given to them before Christmas. In the past we have also marked Bibles for prison ministry and made quilts for the "Linus Project". Our group meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the church. (except summer)

Our Sunday School Offerings have gone to the Salvation Army food bank, missionaries and to disaster relief in Haiti.
